It's called THE MAN AND THE SNAKE by Sture Rydman, and was based on the Ambrose Bierce story of the same name. I have it on VHS.
Could anyone stop me from going crazy please?
Im trying to remember the name of a film that I saw in the mid 70's. It was a supporting feature for one of the disaster movies that were popular at that time.
Im not sure, but I think it was the support for either the poseidon adventure movie, or the towering inferno.
Anyway.... this support films synopsis ( as far as I can recall, and may not be accurate), ), concerns an English soldier returning from India (?), to stay at a hotel. The talk among the guests is something to the effect of how looking into the eyes of a snake can drive you mad !!! The soldier says its all poppycock and goes to his room. Under the bed he sees a pair of green eyes staring at him. The whole scene builds up and ends up with the soldier mad , or dead, I'm not sure now. I think the film ends where a young girl or boy goes under the bed and retrieves a toy woolly snake !!!!.
It really impressed me as a teenager, and for the past few years Ive often wondered what they called the film. It was like a short story with a twist in the tale,
Ive looked for it everywhere on the net but dont appear to have come across it yet. Someone out there must know something about
If anyone out there could put me out of my misery please and furnish me with any information about the film, the actors etc, and where I might be able to see it again, please, it'd be appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.

A good mate of mine, a chap called Darrell Buxton, who runs the website 'Pass The Marmalade' to be found at:
www.buxton.freeserve.co.uk
It'a a comprehensive documentation of all British Horror films. He can also be found nattering on www.britishhorrorfilms.co.uk
I think his copy originally came from a company called 'Sinister Cinema', on a tape with Rydman's other 30-minute horror short THE RETURN starring Peter Vaughan.
