In the 90's I watched this British (BBC?) TV drama about a man & a woman, living in different cities, travelling on the train during the weekends to meet up. Always something getting in the way of them getting together. The series were named after the two main characters. Anyone know what it was called?

It was (allegedly) a comedy but See You Friday had a similar premise though I think they did meet occasionally.

I dont think it was 90s but there was a series within the last five years or so called NY-LON about a couple that lived in New York and London respectively, and kept having to travel to see each other. Could it be that?

That also sounds like the basic premise of Gavin & Stacey - but that only started last year
