I am looking for information about Jack Howells.

He directed the short documentary Dylan Thomas (1962), also known as A Tribute to Dylan Thomas (US 1963) which won an Oscar in 1962 for best short documentary. The film featured Richard Burton visiting haunts of Dylan in Swansea and West Wales and was made by HTV (the Welsh TV franchise at the time) and Howells.

These included 5 Cwmdonkin Drive, the birthplace of Dylan Thomas which is now a self catering holiday experience in Swansea, Wales, UK- Dylan's birthplace and home for 20 years where he wrote 2/3rds of his published output.

My wife and I have just completed restoring the house to its condition when bought by the Thomas family as a new house in 1914 just a few months before Dylan was born in the front bedroom.

I believe Howells was from Swansea and died in 1999 - any information about him and where he was born or lived would be gratefully received. Not having seen the film a copy would also be of interest
