Sadly not quite true. The shoes were thrown, but didn't hit him

At least that's one job I'll never have. Bush's job, that is.

True, he dodged both. The thrower should have yelled, "Fetch" because Bush has done a lot of fetching in the last eight years.

Apparently, in the Arab world, throwing your shoes at someone is one of the greatest insults you can make.

In English culture, the worst insult is to take off your shoes when you still have your smelly socks on.

Yes - this is a very big insult in the Arab world. After Saddam was toppled there were pictures of people smashing the heels of their shoes into his statue.

Bush is evil personified. Look at all the last minute bills he's going to push through before leaving office.

You have your opinion, however, misguided--I have mine. I guess I can feel qualiied to comment on British politics as well. But, I have never felt we should have been in Iraq--how many billions, and, more importantly, lives lost and disrupted? I can't see how you can make war on cave-dwellers and I'd rather have dealt with Saddam Hussein. There's no way Arab countries are going to be transformed into anything resembling western democracies until they rid themselves of Muslim fanatics. In this country, very, very few Muslims ever really condemned the 911 terrorists.

As an American, I am very insulted by the way that you Brits are insulting our fantastic President. He will be remembered for being the greatest man this country has ever known.

Just kidding. Too bad the shoe didn't hit the b*stard.
