Just seen that Odeon are going to release a Hitchcock double bill in their "Best of British" series:

The question is, why on earth do they feel the need to release these? Both have had several DVD releases already, including digitally restored versions, and I wonder why anyone would go out and buy this release?

Hopefully they will release some rather more unusual titles than these in their "Best of British" series next year

Cash in on those younger/non-film viewer who watch the BBC version and want to own/view Hitch's?

I wonder if Odeon are now licensing from Granada? As they own the 39 Steps...

As both these movies were free with The Times a few months back, it seems pointless to issue them commercially......there must be lots of 1p Times DVDs available on the www.....

I bought mine from Amazon Germany and they sent that to the UK. That German DVD is by far the best one because it has the sound and silent versions and it also has some of Anny Ondra's screen test (audio) so you can hear how strong her accent was and why they decided to dub her
