Can anybody recall a series broadcast on ITV, possibly from the early 1980's but I first saw it on Granada Plus in 1997. It's about a young girl with long dark hair (I've never seen in anything else) who is trying to find out who killed her father who was possibly in a car crash. She recruits some one to help find out who killed him and it leads to trail of drug smuggling between Jersey and France. At one point she get's captured and becomes a drug addict which makes her unreliable.
Think this is Floodtide which had two series in 1987 and '88.
Both series involved drug-trafficking - in the first, a girl's father is murdered, and she seeks the help of an old friend (Philip Sayer) in France. The daughter does become an addict and was played by Gaby Dellal.
