I've heard that at least one of the two Steptoe Christmas specials released on DVD is an edited version. In order to get the unedited versions I bought them on video from eBay - The 1973 special was on BBCV 4042 and the 1974 special should have been on BBCV 6167 - However, on watching them they BOTH contain the 1973 special. Can anyone tell me if the full length 1974 special was ever officially released on video - and/or if the DVD contains the full version? Many Thanks, Paul

The last time the BBC broadcast this episode the edited scene was first thing on Christmas morning, where Harold was writing the note to his Father's present.
I think that is on my DVD copy
If you fancy a trip to wadebridge there are about 8 or 10 steptoe videos in the charity shop in the high street
