Marlon Brando in The Nightcomers plus the countless US actors, some of whom were once big stars, who came over here in the 50s to help boost their careers ... eg Brian Donlevy in Quatermass Experiment and Quatermass 2.
Joan Crawford Trog
Oliver Hardy A Chump at Oxford
Richard Gere Yanks
How many USA actors filmed UK scenes in A Bridge Too Far?
Also is Vincent Price most prolific USA actor to work in UK?
Just about every crime film of the 50s seemed to contain an American and was made on location as it was cheaper than using a studio.Richard Widmark is in Night in The city which is on sky tonight at 6.45 i think.
Cesar Romero, Tom Conway, Dane Clark, Richard Carlson all featured in 50s British crime movies that I have recently watched.

Samuel L Jackson rented the house next door to mine whilst making 51st State. I had no idea until I bumped into my ex-neighbour and he told me. Sadly this was sometime after Mr Jackson had finished the film, so I never got to see him.
Entirely separately, went into a bar in London with friends ordered a drink and smiled at the lady next to me when our eyes met. It was Susan Sarrandon. Makes up for not meeting Mr Jackson.

If you use the search facility you can find a thread devoted to it ....
Back on topic, re The Omen, the remake would offer us Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles.

Bette made 'The Nanny' here, but not in Yorkshire
Alan Ladd - The red Beret
Richard Widmark - A prize of Gold.
Elijah Wood - Green Street
Sharon Stone - Basic Instinct 2
The basic answer to the OP's contention "I suspect there are not many" is that really there are thousands of them
