I have begun uploading the TV credits for John Le Mesurier to my Dad's Army website - much like I did a few weeks ago with Arthur Lowe

John Le Mesurier's Television credits here:

Dad's Army - John le Mesurier TV

And his films on this page:

Dad's Army - John le Mesurier TV

Any further details, suggestions or corrections would be most appreciated, thanks.

In the Television credits section you mention 'Alexander Palace' (sic). This should be 'Alexandra Palace'.

My pleasure. The John Le Mesurier radio page went up last night. I suspect he did much more radio but these are the appearances I'm aware of. Any additional entries would be appreciated.

I used to be very dedicated. I basically gave up researching the series and cast about 2003 or so when i gave up running the Dad's Army Appreciation Society New Zealand Branch, due to too much else going on in my life. But now I've decided to put a lot of the syuff that's been on my computer and discs for many years up online for others to use. A lot of this stuff these days looks a lot like the same info that is on IMDb etc, but when I compiled these lists there was virtually nothing on IMDb so it was a lot of work. I published them once, and suspect some of the details on IMDb may have come from my lists. Good to see it online anyway so others can use it too. there's much more to come when I get the chance. And of course IMDb doesn't include the radio or stage appearances.

I'm putting together the stage page for John Le Mes now.

    Good work Dave.

Are they still showing Dad's Army on television over in NZ?

It's been over two years since we last saw the series on pay TV over here.

Certainly due for a repeat showing methinks.

    Dave.

Great Work, I use to enjoy the show but it's been over 15yrs since it has been shown here. Arthur Lowe is always an absolute delight ..

Thanks David. It has been a few years now since Dad's Army was screened here on terrestrial TV. I don't think it's been on Sky TV either (which i don't subscribe to). In fact these days NZ TV has a distinct lack of good British comedies and dramas like we used to get in the good old days. Now it's all reality and cooking shows, total drivvle.

I added John Le Mesurier's stage appearances to the site this afternoon, a page sadly lacking in detail. It's very heard to research such things when you're 12,000 miles away and cannot visit the theatres to rifle through their archives. If anyone knows of other stage appearances by JLM I'd be keen to hear.

It's shown on BBC 2 on their early evening Saturday slot. It shares this slot with other old shows such as Porridge and Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em.

There's a tribute programme on BBC2 on Friday 27/04/2012 to look forward to.

    21:00 - 22:00
John Le Mesurier - It's All Been Rather Lovely.

No online details from the Beeb yet, but it's in next week's RadioTimes as one of that day's choices.

    Nick
