In which film did Peggy Mount take umbrage at being called "Mrs. Loudspeaker"? And in which picture did Molly Weir shout "hold your tongue"?

Not much to go off, I know, but I think I'm asking about 2 different films. Can find no reference to them acting in same film.

Last seen in late '80's, when channel 4 made an effort with British films.

The Peggy Mount umbrage quote could be from the film Sailor Beware (1956).

I have my doubts about it being Peggy Mount - it could well have been Marjorie Rhodes objecting to being "Mrs Loudspeaker"!

name='Leonard']I have my doubts about it being Peggy Mount - it could well have been Marjorie Rhodes objecting to being "Mrs Loudspeaker"!

Reading this has got me thinking about the Film 'Time, Gentlemen please', I think Marjorie's character of Miss Mouncey may have been a Councillor in it and 'Mrs Loudspeaker' may have been a term used in the numerous council meetings taking place in the Guildhall, it was made in the picturesque Essex town of Thaxted, and it's basically about the local Council attempting put Eddie Byrne's character into an Almshouse, but the catch is he has to abide by the Mediaeval rules still in existance, by the end of the Film Eddie is a Mattress tester at a Factory run by Sidney Tafler, plus the local Brass Band are playing in the pouring rain whilst they await the Primeminister's visit, Miss Mouncey runs a small Weaving mill, a true 'Cottage' industry in every way

The Swan hotel is also used in this film, Miss Mouncey 'dissaproves of alcohol for a Lady' but still manages to get tipsy, Eddie pinches Shoes left outside one of the rooms, the town hasn't changed, a true 'England that once was', and still is in Thaxted's case........

I'm 100% sure it's not SAILOR BEWARE and 99% sure it's not TIME GENTLEMEN...I have both of these pictures - I'm going to take a look today...

One Way Pendulum came into my head when I read this, obviously because of the Speak Your Weight machines. Majorie Rhodes payed the Peggy Mount role in Watch It, Sailor!

Thanks for that Joenoir! Will look into it tonight. I actually have some of the dialogue from the 'Mrs Loudspeaker' film on a cassette tape somewhere ( I had started mucking about with sampling in the mid '80's), I'll see if I can recognise other actors voices. Typical - got a cassette, but wiped the video!
