I think this is the name of a 1960's film about two girls coming to London. . Its a long shot but thought there's no harm in asking

I agree with DB7 as one of the girls sings a song about Carnaby Street while she goes shopping there

    And Rita Tushingham!

The scene where her and Lynn were singing about Carnaby Street is of great personal significance. Around the mid-1970s it was shown on a Sunday afternoon on ITV. A friend of the family was (half-)watching it with us when he affectionately said: "Ah, the Swinging Sixties!". That was positively the first time I heard that famous expression and I do believe it was the moment when I became intrigued with what is obviously history's most progressive, most EXCITING decade. 'Uncle' Peter's nostalgic reaction occured about five years after the 60s ended - a decade I have not been allowed to remember (I'll be 44 next month and will always be too young).

Those prices are obscene - I've wanted to see Smashing Time since I first saw it reviewded around the time of release, but I wouldn't pay that for a DVD, not in a million years. I see that the late George Melly wrote the script, so it's got to be worth a look.

Even on R1 the Smashing Time is rare. Better to wait for it to be released on R1.

The R1 release of Smashing Time has been out of print for some time now, hence the obscene prices being asked by Amazon Marketplace associates.

I have a fansite dedicated to Rita Tushingham, and have a lot of material from Smashing Time: http://members.cox.net/rjd0309/tush/1967.htm

A fellow Tush fan in Italy was kind enough to send me the digital audio files of the soundtrack, a few years ago. I have created a soundtrack CD, using these files. Send me a PM if you're interested in a copy.

    Cheers,

    Robert
