Trying to remember a film seen a long time ago - was in colour.

Some travellers went through a portal in time and found themselves in

London centuries before. The Great Fire was about to spread and they had to get back back through the portal before it was destroyed and it was too late.

    Any offers?

Its not Sapphire and Steel because it was a programme I never looked at. It also Again it was not Dr Who since I have all the classic episodes.

No the one I had in mind was a cinema film as distinct from TV.

Now it might be Time Tunnel I will have to look int that one.

    Mmany thanks for the replies.

Having had a Google at Time Tunnel that wasn't it either.

As far as I can remember it was a feature film rather then an episode from a series

The plot of Time Travelers sounds a bit like the one you describe but in this they go back to 1871 when the Great Chicago Fire was about to break out.

I think you could be right - it is a long time since I saw it and I had assumed it was the great fire of London when in fact it probably was the one you are reffering to. Will now have to look and see if the film is available on DVD/VHS
