Yes I saw it.
It was rubbish.
It takes a real effort to put comedy back 50 years, but the Gay Nazi "sketch" did the trick. Just edit together the least funny bits of "Allo, Allo", add in a witless caricature of what Dick Emery did far better, plus the sensitivity of Bernard Manning, and Bingo!
The rest just proved that ITV can't do sketch comedy the way that C4 or BBC2 can.
The PC Cops was probably the best sketch, and the one that immediately followed it wasnt too bad. I am normally a fan of Al Murray but this is not his finest hour or half hour as the case may be.
Again like with much comedy I think he just used swearing to get a laugh and the other actors arent really up to much considering those who appeared with Dick Emery in the past like Derek Francis and Victor Maddern. Were all the other actors in the world busy for them to use Jenny Eclair?
A couple of the sketches raised a titter, but the rest were just embarassingly bad.
I appreciate this series is not going down well but I wonder if anybody can help with a cast credit query.
There is a sketch with Al and Jenni Eclair playing sex mad middle aged people who embarrass their daughter, Katie, and her boyfriend. Who is the actress playing the daughter?

that camp nazi is obviously inspired by the camp hippy hitler in the producers isnt it ?funny in that ,not so funny here
Its one thing to do comedy on telly, its quite another
to carry a show in the theatre... you need to be a big personality
... Ken Dodd ... Les Dawson... Canon and Ball come to mind.
Somehow I think Al has that big persona too and the following
to do a theatre run.

Fletchy, it's on ITV1 down here so it should be on whatever's your Scottish region's equivalent to it is.
