Okay so the main actress is called Valerie and she has a son Scott - she is on the way home and walks right into a soccer crowd stampede and she loses control of her pram and her son is killed. Another part of the story - Valerie meets a hippy musician on the beach?? Also she befriends an Indian chap and he writes a poem about her dead son .." Little Scott the tiny tot......"

This has been driving me nuts for ages - any ideas of the title ?

    Thanks

That was Made, starring Carol White. An excellent performance but a very depressing film. The musician boyfriend was Roy Harper and John Castle played the priest. By the way, it was her babysitter who was caught up with the football hooligans (reminiscent of Battleship Potempkin with the baby in the pram) and a policeman turned up to inform Carol.

The only funny scene was when the Indian lad loses his virginity to Carol/Valerie. "That was the greatest experience of my life", he says deliriously. There was another funny moment which I backed out of repeating in another post. There are some schoolboys in a train and one of them shouts to a man, who's just gone to the toilet: "No w****** in there!". And it wasn't 'waiting'!

But worth waiting for to see again (the last time was 25 years ago) ...

Me too - I can't remember names of people let alone films.

It is a very sad story though- I don't think I could handle this one.

    I was rather taken by:
