This snippet of a scene has been stuck in my head for years now but I've no idea what it's from and it's starting to bug me.

A young woman is making out with a man against a wall, or a tree. It's night. He is suddenly transformed into a wolf or large dog. She starts screaming.

That's all I can remember. I don't know whether it was a film or TV drama, I didn't watch the whole thing so have no idea what it was about. I think it was Channel Four, mid to late 80's, possibly in Film on Four slot on a Thursday night.

    Grateful for any help.

After the woman screams does a hand get bitten off and it falls into the grass nearby ?

    Wolfen (1981) ?

I don't remember that happening - I have Wolfen on tape but have never watched it so I'll check it out ASAP, thanks for the reply.

One thing which does come back is that the film was an 80's production but seemed to be set in the 50's or 60's. It also seemed very rural, perhaps on a farm or small village.

It won't be Wolfen then as that was set in Manhattan. Always wondered how Albert managed to grow his hair back so quickly after Annie, and get it permed at the same time.

It's been ages since I've seen it, but could it be The Company of Wolves?

The pervy part is that I was about fifteen and anything sex-related on TV seemed pervy to me.

I think someone having sex with someone who is an animal probably goes into "pervy"

Definitely sounds like the beginning of Wacko Jacko's "Thriller" video to me.

I also recall that Lenny Henry made a surprisingly good (for him) parody of this, in which his girlfriend is horrified by his sudden transformation into ... Michael Jackson.

(Hmm ... she'd probably be even more horrified to see Jacko now !)

Is it the Channel 4 one about a commuter that gets off the train, lives in a tree , builds a nest and his partner lays an egg?. This would be 80's, no idea of title.

Also sound like a scene near the start of Norman J Warren's PREY, when the alien Kator (Barry Stokes), who resembles a canine of some kind, takes on the identity of 'Anderson', who has been shagging his girlfriend in a nearby car, and then reveals his true nature before breaking the girl's neck. But that probably wouldn't have been shown on TV.

It's not Wolfen. I know that story (book and film) well. :)

A long shot but could it be The Howling? I only saw it once when it first came out in 1981, but your description brought it to mind.
