Not having seen it, it matches the description of the opening/closing shots of Sunset Boulevard, William Holden dead in the pool, narrating.
I just got around to watching "When Brendan Me Trudy" on my Sky+ andI was intrigued by a film clip shown at the end of the movie. It's a Hollywood film noir picture which has a body floating in the pool of a hotel (shot from within the water) with the charactor narrating. Does anybody know what this snippit is?

That's got to be a "solved". I can't think of any other film that even close to that scenario.

William Holden doesn't describe the body in the water as none of his business and someone else's problem does he? I was thinking more along the lines of "Lady in the Lake" type of narration.
