Sounds a bit like Topper, but there wasn't a haunted house in that.
I watched this with my mum when I was a kid, it was a black and white film, a couple crash their car and go to find help. They find a haunted house and run back to their car, but hwen they get back to it they see their own bodies in the car and realise that they too are ghosts. Neither me or my mum can remember the name of it, please help!

It'll be either:
(a) one of the many TV versions of THE OTHERS (1953, 1957 and 1970 respectively, although the latter was actually broadcast in colour) the first of which is a US broadcast, and the second two British:
or, more than likely,
the film VOICES ( Kevin Billington 1973) starring David Hemmings and Gayle Hunnicutt as the marooned couple. This was also made in colour, but the chances are you saw it on a black and white TV. I have had two copies of this: the most recent one had the ending missing, so I'll shortly be getting another!!
These productions were all, of course, merged into one for the Amenabar remake starring Nicole Kidman in 2001.
Thanks, don't know if it was any of these films, but I will investigate further!!!
I'd agree with Drew that it's probably Voices.
I think your right, it's either Voices or Armchair Theatre The Others, will have to see if I can rent them out from anywhere, to see which one it is, thanks!

It does look like Topper to me unless the TV progs mentioned copied the idea exactly.

I think it is Topper. With Cary Grant and Carole Lombard. They come back to find thier bodies and wind up at Cosmo Toppers house.
So the question is...who copied who?
Obviously TOPPER came out first, but did the people who made VOICES even know of its existence, or were they copying THE OTHERS? Come to think of it, had the writers of THE OTHERS ever seen TOPPER?
This plot gets thicker every day!!
I strongly suspect this one is Voices. Never seen it myself, but when this question has come up on other sites, Voices has always been the correct answer.
Another of those 'Who's Online' discoveries ...
I remember Voices very well, starring then husband and wife team David Hemmings and Gayle Hunnicutt. The original poster's description is exactly as I remember it, which is why it's a big let down when they never return to confirm it. Both myself and Euryale are among the Senior Members/film enthusiasts who've been critical of this. I think I've missed out on about three Best Answers so far, just because these 'fly-by-nights' can't be bothered to let us know. Very frustrating, infuriating really.
As for the film, I will be wildly excited if this ever got released on DVD. We can but hope ... It was shown on a weekday afternoon on ITV, circa 1985.
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
who is the most beautiful of all?
(something, something) so fair,
My lovely, lovely Lady Claire
I can remember David reciting this poem as he walked around the haunted house, carrying a candelabra.

Voices and the 1953/1970 TV versions of The Others are all based on the work of Richard Lortz.
However, I see no connection between his play and The Others (2001) which owes more to Henry James.
The 1957 broadcast "The Others" was in fact a version of James' The Turn of the Screw and has no relation to the Lortz material.
Confusing, isn't it?
