The answer to that is in this short video:
The Making Of The Wallace & Gromit Ad For npower
DS x.
A group of friends were gathered around the TV about to watch some sporting event or other (sorry,my knowledge of sport is zero) when the new 'Npower' ad came on, featuring Wallace and Gromit. It then popped up again during the program that they were watching, and one of their number raised the query, that the voice of Wallace, was NOT Peter Sallis, but a good impressionist,'taking him off'.
I have since seen the ad myself, and must admit to wondering. Whilst the impersonation (if such it is) is very good, it DOES sound a bit different to the usual 'Wallace' voice. Anyone either know the answer to this, or have any theories?

Sorry, I can`t get the vid to play? Whats the answer?

What is the van that the nPower repairman is driving? Generally, Aardman have always used recognisably British vehicles, but this one is rather different, almost American in style.

You and your friends may have been watching cricket. Test cricket, in England, is sponsored by npower.
Sorry,I didn't make it clear enough,I was not part of the group, they were a bunch of my friends, but one of them asked later,if I had seen the 'new' ad,and within days I did see it. And thanks for the info that it is indeed Peter Sallis, I had no joy with a quick Google to find the answer!
No idea what sport they were watching,as I said before,I 'don't speak sport' in any manner whatsoever!

As Peter is now 88, his voice has changed from how it was when first voicing Wallace 25 years back; in order for it to sound closer to how Wallace's voice used to be, a little pitch control wizardry has been employed...
