hi all classic british comedy (ealing like) could be colour or black and white mother (lovely old dear) plots a series of murders to make son well off with money and big house then kills him at the end by blowing him up police follow the murders but cannot find the colprit till the end was on tv about ten yers ago would love to know the name of film

hi its a bit like kind hearts but made later it follows a man as he gets lucky breaks and moves up the ladder of life till at the end he lives in a big country house due to so many people dying in a short time the police investigate him but its his old mum/aunt bumping people off without him knowing till the end where she blows up the house with him and the policeman in to claim the inheratance which is her plan from day one think the lead actor had big ears looked a bit like ian carmichael and the old nan looked like lady out of ladykillers anybody got any ideas
