British actress Lucy Gordon, who starred in Spider-Man 3, has committed suicide in her Paris flat, her agent has confirmed.

Just picked that up on the web, a promising career cut short, she had appeared in more than a dozen films including a biopic of Serge Gainsbourg currently playing at Cannes in which she played Jane Birkin, how very sad that she chose to end her life at age 28 apparently by hanging herself from the balcony of her Paris apartment.

The agent of a British actress, who apparently committed suicide in her Paris flat, has said she is "baffled and devastated" by her death.



Lucy Gordon, who played reporter Jennifer Dugan in SPIDER-MAN 3, was found dead at her apartment on Wednesday, two days before her 29th birthday.



Her agent Elizabeth Simpson said the actress was "sparkling, warm-hearted, touching and generous" and her death was a "wholly unexpected tragedy".

A lovely, sensitive girl, apparently. You can only hope that it was, in some way, a reasoned decision rather than a moment of terrible sadness.
