If I remember correctly, the programmes, narrated by Michael Redgrave, only covered the Edwardian era up to around the First World War. They were made on 35mm film, so they probably still exist.
Probably a long shot, although I know Channel 4 reshowed these IIRC in the late eighties : but if anyone has this series originally produced by ABC Televsion chronicalling the events of the 20th Century I would be gratefil if they would PM me.
More than happy to trade, thanks in advance.

That's the one, meant to say " the early events of the 20th century "
Actually it was a whole collection of narrators, including Stanley Holloway, John Ireland and many others. (Each one beginning with the words.."I remember a time when.."). I do have quite a lot of this series on videotape, and hope to get round to transferring it to DVD sometime. If and when I do, I'll get in touch.
I have two on 16mm...both featuring the twenties...one narrated by Redgrave the other by Basil Rathbone, no less.
I have never seen any others advertised by film collectors/dealers...pity as they were very well made with excellent footage from the Pathe Library.

I've had a rummage and have found 23 episodes on video ; 6 covering the years 1911 - 1920, and the rest covering 1933 to 1945. Apart from those already mentioned, other voices heard include Roland Culver, Richard Greene, Anthony Quayle, Niall McGinnis and Edith Evans. I'm pretty sure that, somewhere in the house or shed, I have some of the 1920s stuff too....I hope so, because (naturally enough) so much of what I've re-discovered so far deals with World Wars One and Two.

Mr Pastry Time asked if anyone could help him with some recordings he had missed...I offered him the lot on DVD off TV, so far I haven't heard from him. If you would like copies drop me an e-mail with your address...they are (as I say) just recordings as they went out, but of good quality.
