name='SirOllyBolly']I was reading a book today in which it mentioned that the perimeter of Great Pyramid, divided by twice it's height, was equal to the mathematical contant
pi (to several significant digits).
Tish & pish I thought - I'd never heard of that before. So off to the interweb and - blimey! - the Great Pyramid is riddled with meaningful dimensions and amazing statistcs.
For example:
One of the first items discovered about the pyramid is that it is aligned with the four points of the compass. This means that its four sides point toward true East, West, North, and South. The error from true north is about 1/12 of a degree and what is even more astounding is that this orientation was done without a compass, which was not invented until the 1500 years after the Messiah's birth.
The Great Pyramid is located in the center of all the landmasses.
The base unit of measurement in the Pyramid's is 25.052 inches (PI). The Pryamid's Inch is 1.0025 of our regular inch. Each side of its base is 365.2422 cubits, which is the exact number of days in a solar year.
The mortar used is of an unknown origin. It has been analyzed and it's chemical composition is known but it can't be reproduced.
It is reported that when the pyramid was first broken into that the swivel door, weighing some 20 tons, was so well balanced that it could be opened by pushing out from the inside with only minimal force, but when closed, was so perfect a fit that it could scarcely be detected and there was not enough crack or crevice around the edges to gain a grasp from the outside.
For those inclined, here's some more interesting stuff,
