I remember seeing this as a 12 year old and thinking gawd was n't the Hellfire club boring.
Hi everyone. Many years ago I used to travel through High Wycombe, and recall a shiny gold coloured dome at the top of a building some way off in the distance. I had recently seen the film "The Hellfire Club" with Peter Arne, and I am sure that this place was used in the film....."Am I right Sir?"
I remember seeing this as a 12 year old and thinking gawd was n't the Hellfire club boring.
and the location of the golden domed building is.......?
It's where the real Hellfire Club met in the eighteenth century, so if the film used authentic locations, the OP would be right.
It's been years since I last saw this film, but I think they used the original home of the Hellfire Club, West Wycombe Park, as the main location. I don't think they used the caves themselves (old salt mines ?) though, which aren't visually that interesting. Visited the caves some time ago, and seem to remember some displays which featured audio presentations by someone who sounded exactly like Peter Wyngarde !

I used to have a girlfriend who lived at Marlow Bottom ... we used to take romantic walks around West Wycombe .... it's a lovely spot.
Funny isn't it how memory plays tricks. I imagined the big golden ball to have been quite large, much bigger than that shown, and on a domed building. But I will bow to your greater knowledge. Thanks.
