The Snake Type Thing on the Sooty Show?

Can anyone remember what it was called and what it was supposed to be?

Ah, of course! He was a bit of a depressive character as I recall for a children's tv show, sounded a bit like Joe Gladwin.

Oh yes. Sweep was always my favourite - there's a certain hopelessness about him. Much better than Sooty.
