Saw this film years ago at my Nan's house - couldn't make head nor tail of it, but it has stuck in my mind.

It was a b/w Fifties or Sixties film about British chaps training to be astronauts (or something). Part of their training was to be left floating in a tank of water, in darkness, to induce sensory deprivation. I got the impression that one of them was left in the tank far too long - it was a conspiracy of some kind. There were some chasing-about scenes, but it was all veddy British, like Quatermass.

    Any ideas ?

Thanks ! I've just checked it on imdb, and it is indeed "The Mind Benders" (1962).

Nothing to do with astronauts, though, so I obviously got it mixed up with Quatermass.

What a peculiar subject for a film ! Are you trying to tell me that millions of people actually paid money to go out and see that, on a wet Friday night ?
