Yes I do a great series I thought Georgia Brown as Annie Kenny was the stand out in an excellent cast. Sunday Nights BBC2 if my memory serves me right.

Yes, remember this very well. Had a great cast, but some of the prison scenes were pretty harrowing and I think even now I would find these hard to watch. As far as I know it has never had a commercial release anywhere - it did get repeated in a late night slot in the late '80s or early '90s, as did the brilliant Roads To Freedom. It was pretty stupid of me not to record either.
I remember when STS was first broadcast, the great Peter Cushing wrote a letter to the Radio Times praising the series - he mentioned his late wife Helen in his comments, and I think this show had bought him some sort of comfort after her death.
