I recall being tremendously impressed by Maynard, showing again that great comedians sometimes make fabuklous serious actors. This Colin Welland TV 'Play For Today' was directed by Michael Apted and was a colour presentation in '73.

I cannot find any formal release of an excellent subject that ought to be seen again. So far superior to the writing today which usually involved vein bulging screaming and shouting and bad language and of course well chorographed violence plus a shedload of misery in the gaps.

    Any ideas anyone?

Well, there's something out there. This opening sequence doesn't show a lot of Bill's serious acting ability.

His serious acting role that always sticks in my mind is in Trinity Tales.

I've got this. An AVI file which could be made into a conventional DVD. Pm me if interested.

I have an excellent copy on DVD if you want one. You can have it for free by sending me a PM. Not commercially available I understand to be the case.

I think that complies with this sites ruling as I am not a trader and certainly not in it for any profits/sales. If wrong I am sure I will be told accordingly.
