Hi, not too sure if anyone able to help me, this is an old black and white movie, the main plot is about a man who invents a material or fabric that doesnt wear or get dirty, he makes a suit, there is a chase scene where they go through a coal heap/slag heap and he comes thru the other side still brilliant white but everyone else is dirty, the ending of the film is the disintigration of the suit!!!!

This is driving my husband potty and suggestions would be welcomed

    Thanks

Definatley the 1951 Ealing Classic 'The Man In The White Suit' starring Alec Guinness. Take a look in the Social Groups section of Community, where you will find a Group specifically created for the appreciation of such masterpieces of British cinema and which uses the poster of this film as it's standard!

Watching a bit of a Richard Hammond vehicle the other evening, I was bemused to see the white suit now exists.

Kicks in near the end of the show, at 50.34 on the i-player - so use your slider bar if the bloke gets on your wotsits.
