Anna Friel is interviewed by Kevin Maher in The Times:

LAND OF THE LOST, an amiable if undemanding revamp of a mid-1970s American TV series, features Friel and Will Ferrell as crackpot scientists who enter an alternative universe filled with dinosaurs, aliens and proudly adolescent set pieces....

    The movie is released tomorrow.

Downloaded a DVD screener of this the other day.

It truly is the worst, awful, abortion of a "comedy". I've ever seen. Avoid at all costs.

Has anyone here actually heard of the original TV series? Not to blow my own trumpet, but if if it's a Saturday morning kids series from the seventies and I've not heard of it, it must be bloody obscure!

It's a new one on me. Apparently it was remade in 1991 by the original producers.

Channel 5 screened the original series a few years back on Saturday mornings. From an adult perspective it really is an absolute load of garbage. It was however aimed at kids, and i sdo remember that my young son loved it.

A few episodes were also released on video in the 90's. I picked one up for the nipper at a car boot sale, sure it still resides somewhere in the attic.

I used to watch it, and it was created by Sid and Marty Krofft, who also produced H R PufNStuf, and The Bugaloos. Stuff intended for very young kids (think toddler years!)

The only actor I remember from the tv series was Spencer Milligan.

But that's Hollywood, when an older film is not being remade, a tv show from way back when gets turned into a movie.

Compared to the Krofft shows, Gilligan's Island was considered adult-targeted. But I digress. :)
