Does anyone out there know when FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED was actually in production at Elstree - It's obviously winter (1968/69?), but can someone be more specific?

I'm trying to place the use of the Associated British Elstree backlot in context with the other productions being made at the time.

I'm sure I have the information but it's at home and I'm at work. I'll check and report back tomorrow unless anyone else comes up with answer.

The Johnson-DelVecchio book, Hammer Films: An Exhaustive Filomography" lists January 13, 1969 as the production start date, wrapping on Feb. 26.

I'll dig out my copies of Wayne Kinsey's Hammer Films - The Elstree Studios Years and Marcus Hearn's The Hammer Story so we can compare notes.

Yep, 13 January to 26 February 1969 is confirmed as correct by Wayne Kinsey.

On 7 February, the BBC filmed a 10-minute behind-the-scenes documentary on the set, called Made in Britain. Wonder if it's available online anywhere?

There were clips of it in a BBC 1987 documentary called Hammer - The Studio That Dripped Blood
