It is only few I can remember. It was an English TV-series which was shown in the German TV in the later 60's/early 70's.

It was the style of THE FAMOUS FIVE.

One of the kids lives on a boat and this boat was shown in every episode. All in all it might be 6 or 8 episodes. They solve a mystery (no idea which).

    Any idea?

Was it the Freewheelers? Looks a lot grittier than the Famous Five(!) but it did involve mysteries and a character that lived on a boat.

It's neither Swallows and Amazons nor Freewheelers.

"Treasure Over The Water" might be a possibility, though while a boat (or maybe boats) were prominent, I'm not sure whether any character actually lived on one. This was a 1972 adventure serial based on Philippa Pearce's book "Minnow On The Say".

I forgot to mention that the theme of this series was "Tijuana Taxi" by Herb Alpert.

name='Wilfried Mueller']I forgot to mention that the theme of this series was "Tijuana Taxi" by Herb Alpert.

It is possible that it may have had a different theme tune when broadcast in the U. K. Can you remember whether you saw it in colour?

The Barnstormers from 1964 may be a little too early for your date-range, but it was shown in Europe - I came across it on a Dutch website. It starred Dennis Waterman and was about some young people who form a theatrical group and try to find treasure buried in an old watermill. It ran to about 13 episodes. Don't know if any character lived on a houseboat, though.

Sorry, I can't tell you if it ws in color or b/w. In Germany the color TV started in 1967 and we at home got our first color TV early in the 70's.

Hello Wilfried. I wasn't here when you started this thread and have only just caught up with it. Was Bendigo right in post #3?

    Could it be Freewheelers?

This is a link to the Wikipedia page on the show:

    Freewheelers

I see you've been a member since 2003, yet this is the first time I've found one of your posts. Pleased to meet you at last!
