Bird of Prey was the great BBC computer thriller of the 80s.
Hello!
This is my first post in the forum, so hello all!
In my home country (Portugal) as with many, I'm sure, over Europe, our public TV channel played many of BBC's and ITV's series and films during the 80s ( I fondly remember the London Tower's image with the anthem playing at the end of some of them - Thames!)
One of them, in particular, was special for me for two reasons: it was about this new thing called "computers" () and it was about this thrilling conspiracy that really gripped me.
Alas, I was but a small child (it was during the 80s) so most of the plot points ran past me. I would like to revisit it but I totally forgot the name. All I can remember is the name "Simon" (I think) and something about a genius hacker being kidnapped to work on something for some bad guys. I don't even know how many episodes the series ran for...
I hope this forum is not only about film as in cinema, but also film as in broadcast! Please help me identify the series, if you can!
Thanks again,

Thank you for the answer - I'll look into to it! Hope it's the same show.

That sounds very much like TIMESLIP to me.
There was a boy called Simon and a girl called Liz
Commander Traynor was the villian and in the third story was editing computer tapes to ruin the 'master plan" in an effort to discredit the Controller (an adult Simon) who had denounced him.
