I think I saw this in the 80s, but I could be wrong:
It was a play, not a film, and was about the Dirk Bogarde character in the Blue Lamp being flung forward through time to a modern day police station, while a modern day track-suited hoodlum gets thrown back in time to a 1950s police station complete with a copper offering him a cup of tea - to which he replies something along the lines of "What am I a f**king sausage?" or some such.
Has this been asked about before? I remember being impressed by the Bogarde boy's face. And a scene where a kid is killed by a pencil ... or am I mixing things up now?

That's the one I reckon Euryale ... I remember it as being very funny and quite insightful about policing methods and about cinematic/TV cop cliches.

That's fantastic. Thanks. 1988, eh? Twenty one years ago. I should watch it again.
