| British actress, dancer and singer of stage and screen. Trained as a ballet dancer and made her debut aged 16 in pantomime. In 1958 she was on stage in Living for Pleasure and joined Kenneth Williams in the long running review, One Over the Eight. Has appeared in Eastenders and Doctor Who but probably best remembered as the buxom Nurse Gladys Emmanuel, the object of Arkwright's desire in the comedy series, Open All hours (she wore padding to fill out the curves). |
