Edward Woodward

| British star of films including Breaker Morant and The Wicker Man. Woodward, who starred in The Equalizer on TV, won an Emmy in 1990 for Remembering World War II and a Golden Globe in ‘87 for The Equalizer, which ran for 88 episodes (1985–89) on the US network CBS. In a career that began in 1946, he played roles in productions ranging from the popular British soap opera Eastenders to productions of Shakespeare, and at least 40 films for theater and TV. He had heart problems and other ailments but died of pneumonia in Cornwall, England on November 16, 2009. ~Life in Legacy Stern looking actor of gentle voice. Seen to best advantage in the TV series, Callan and The Equalizer. But I'd have to say his tour-de-force performance in Breaker Morant made me re-evaluate his talents upwards. |
