It seems highly unlikely the 1934-1936 IMDb credits for Peter Shaw are for the same person who was Angela Lanbury's husband, and who would have been a teenager at the time. The person in question appears to actually have been a nephew of George Bernard Shaw, and noted as acting as techincal advisor on the 1934 version of Jane Eyre.
