The horrors of WWI as seen through the eyes of four comrades. Overshadowed by All Quiet on the Western Front, this German made anti-war film still packs a wallop, being slightly grittier than it's more illustrious Hollywood contemporary. Some guesses on the vidcaps, André Saint-Germain is either the French soldier fighting with the student or the penultimate French soldier methinks. Think that is Gustav Püttjer identified though (unless he's the clown). |
