An eccentric scientist has developed a time machine (in this case, a car) which allows his best friend to revisit the past to a time when he wasn't even born thirty years ago. When he arrives back in 1955 he tries to convince his future father to fall in love with his future mother, but instead finds that the woman who is to become his mom has the hots for him instead!

Steven Spielberg served as executive producer for this much-loved 80s sci-fi/rom-com. Two sequels followed.
