Quatermass and the Pit

Five Million Years to Earth

1968

Roy Ward Baker
Director
Hammer Films
Studio

The greatest Brit sci-fi film? Thoughtful and harrowing tale of ethnic cleansing brought on by resurrected alien beings. Andrew Keir makes a great Quatermass. Some of the special effects are brilliant, the spaceship for one, some terrible - the mosh pit martians for example. As all this can be yours for six quid, I suggest you hop out and get it.

Addendum: Shout Factory's blu ray is exquisite, one of the best restorations I've seen
