Followed by numerous sequels, each slightly worse than its predecessor yet each of them making huge unexplained profits.
Warner Bros. made this one but episodes 2 to 8 were taken over by Paramount, until New Line reignited the franchise in the early 1990s. ~ The Lord

Cleverly reworking the Halloween psycho-on-the-loose premise and adding sex and gore this tale of the summer camp where no one is generally left alive to complain about the cooking spawned more imitators and sequels than one could ever justify. Definitely scary. Oh, and don't forget Kevin Bacon. ~ The Sloth
