| Joining Apocalypse Now and Platoon, Kubrick's take on Vietnam adds another powerhouse look at the conflict. This one spends its first third on boot camp where Vincent D'Onofrio and R. Lee Ermey have an acting field day as raw recruit and bullying sergeant respectively. The HD-DVD and Blu-Ray versions are widescreen, the DVD versions all 'formatted-to-fit-your-TV". This is the first compelling reason I've seen to change format. |
