The Girl From Petrovka
1974
Director |
| Jaded journalist romances ballet free-spirit in Moscow. Downbeat and dreary romantic tale occasionally lit up by Ms. Hawn sporting a not-bad Russian accent and an unusual leading-man role for Hal Holbrook. Grégoire Aslan makes for a fun sugar daddy, and Tony Hopkins is stolid support. Nice matte work from Albert Whitlock! Netflix is dropping this one as of December 1st, 2014. I have to say, sadly, not a great loss. |
