Excellent little Lovecraftian horror film with interesting parallels to Psycho. Too bad it has fallen undeservedly into the ghetto of public domain films, though. The only real detriments to the film are some indifferent performances amongst the leads. Lee, Jessel and Dyall are excellent, though, as are the cinematography and direction, and that more than makes up for it.
