FBI breaks up a Nazi spy ring operating out of New York City to steal atomic secrets.

Slow-moving, semi-documentary spy film. Hadley's long-winded narration distances the audience from the action and makes the whole thing a bit dull. That narration did allow an atomic bomb reference to be added, barely one and a half months after Hiroshima, probably the first film to do so. The performances are almost uniformly bland, to the point of caricature, especially the baddies. Eythe is unconvincing, and any spy worth his weight would have sussed him out immediately. Only Carroll and Lockhart have the opportunity to rise above the material, and Lockhart's character seems copied from The 39 Steps. Disappointing.

The real 'House on 92nd Street" was actually on 93rd Street.
