| Dodgy scientists on lush tropical island messing with things they shouldn't. Add a bunch of shipwrecked sailors and one petulant Ms. Bach and stand well back. The H.P. Lovecraft version of The Island of Dr. Moreau...Roger Corman got his claws on the Italian original, tightened the thing and added a blood splattered first act and the odd insert spiced up with effects by Chris Walas and Kenny Myers among others. Ms. Bach is gorgeous, Claudio Cassinelli adequately macho but Richard Johnson steals it as a nasty overseer. |
