A well known peace officer has retired to Arizona with his wife, but it isn't long before trouble brews in the small mining town of Tombstone and he, along with his brothers are called into action to deal with a local mob who have arrived to cause chaos. Loose re-telling of the story of Wyatt Earp and his gang.

Well respected modern-day western which succeeds due to a strong supporting cast and a good script. A Director's Cut of the film has been released on DVD.

The opening sequence, narrated by Robert Mitchum features footage from The Great Train Robbery (1903).
