Four directors get a shot at 4 Twilight Zone tales with variable results. The least of them is Spielberg's mushy Kick-the-Can, followed by Landis's ill-fated look at racism. Then the good news...Joe Dante has a field day with the It's a Good Life segment aided and abetted by Warner cartoon noises and outrageous critters devised by make-up man Rob Bottin. George Miller delivers a smashing version of Nightmare at 20,000 Feet with a superb John Lithgow and a beastie with a sense of humour. Long awaited. Highly recommended. |
