Mysterious deaths are plaguing the Mittel-Europa town of Kleinschloss, with the victims all dying of blood loss. The town elders suspect vampire bats, but is it something more sinister? Lionel Atwill is in the cast, so that is probably a rhetorical question.

Great little film, with a great cast. Perhaps one of the best horror films of the 1930s, thanks in no small part to the lavish sets borrowed from Frankenstein, and of course Dwight Frye as the village idiot who loves bats. He easily steals every scene he's in. The romantic and comic relief subplots (police inspector Douglas and lovely as always Wray, and Eburne as hypochondriac Aunt Gussie, respectively) for once are welcome and non-intrusive, which helps a lot.
