Basically a teen version of High Plains Drifter, it's cheesy and dumb, but also kind of awesome in the way only the Eighties could be. (And it's real cars racing, not CGI nonsense like Fast & the Furious and its endless garbage sequels). Plus it has 21-year old Sherilyn Fenn. Enough said.

I do wonder if Skank and Gutterboy could have been the inspiration for Beavis & Butthead. They do pretty much steal the film. Which is good, as Cassavetes' edgy affluenza kid is a little underwhelming.
