| A wealthy New York businessman (Douglas) discovers that his much younger, beautiful wife (Paltrow) is having an affair with out-of-work artist (Mortensen). When the husband realises he will benefit financially in the event of her death he plots a sinister revenge on her by hiring her lover to murder his wife in exchange for his silence over knowledge of a crime which would cause the boyfriend some serious jail time. Plot twists, a complicated yet intelligent script, a surprise ending, a loveable villain, and some beautiful directing make this a decent movie. Based on the Frederick Knott play Dial M For Murder. |
